| | Kelly Clarkson "Sober" | ] | Ciao tutti! Come stai? Sto bene, grazie.
Ok, enough with the Italian practice. Remember last week when my "Top Friend" bumped me off her top friends list? Well guess who's back on top -- yours truly of course. And to think I was worried about nothing. She's also back as my top friend too. I had bumped her to #2 to create a cool effect for my friends box that didn't work out. Or was I being a mean girl, hmm. I'll figure that out later, or maybe not because this is what my horoscope had to say today:
Leo (July 23 - August 22) Reduce, recycle, reuse: It's not just a motto for garbage. What about some of that mental haze that keeps repeating inside that brain of yours? What can you cut out, transform and repurpose for your own good?
It's like these horoscopes are written just for me some days. So I'm going to let bygones be bygones and move on from here on out.
I have a bunch of habits I want to drop. I think if I list them here where anyone can see them instead of in a journal no one ever sees and I forget about, I will stick to them. And I'm going to update my goals on joesgoals.com. Check out that site it's really cool.
Here are my goals. Maybe some of them will inspire you to start over.
(1) Don't pull your hair out over trivial things! (The sooner, the better.) (2) Stop biting fingernails! (It's been over 10 years already, and it would be nice to paint them for once.) (3) Stop worrying. (Everything will work itself out.) (4) Start praying more. (Talk to God. You'll feel much better.) (5) Stick to workout routine. (3 times a week: Monday Wednesday, Friday for 15 minutes) (6) Be more confident. Be less self-conscious. (Enter a room with that head held high with Steve's mantra in your head. "I'm too sexy for this place.") (7) Go with your gut. (Don't ignore instinct.) (8) Meditate. (Empty that mind.) (9) Don't bottle up everything. (Journal, talk, blog.) (10) Find a hobby and try new things. (There's so much stuff to do in life.) (11) Smile more. (Maybe there's a reason everyone tells you to smile.)
You may be wondering what this is all about. I just want to better myself before I start classes and what better time to do that than now. This will be My December; the time when you can't wait for the new year to roll in so you can renew yourself and start all over again. (Kelly Clarkson came up with that concept, and I give her full credit.) It's time for a change, and that change starts now.
- xoxo -

Okay so here's the story - I'm Bored of Being Bored. I don't know why, but I find everything so dreadfully boring lately, Christmas, the internet, burning CDs. The last bit of excitement = Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist (a must-read!). Even celebs are boring; it was all fun and games when Britney wasn't wearing any underwear and someone was stealing someone else's man. Now everything just seems already done - I don't think I want to get into celeb PR anymore. Even fashion seems a bit trite. Maybe I need to come up with my own magazine/book/blog/music ... hope I covered everything. But even that seems boring ... or maybe not. I could come up with an awesome fictional person and write things from her perspective. Maybe everything will be new again from a different perspective. By George, or Germany, LOL - inside joke, I think I got it! Creating a character sounds fun; I could even create different characters ... ooh! and I could base them on characters I love from my fave books (i.e. Norah, Cammie, Anna, Blaire). That would be awesome. Better get to work.
Thank you for reading my random ramblings. As you can probably tell, I just write what comes to mind. But I assure you I'm awesome! Here's something for you to put in your juice box and suck on: (mind you, this is a joke) "I don't drink. I'm always the designated driver. You know what I like to do, drop my friends off at strangers' houses." LOL |

| | Justin Timberlake -- Damn Girl | ] | I was born in the late 80s so I consider myself a 90s kid. I'm all about Full House (esp. Uncle Jessie), Saved By The Bell, Power Rangers (but only the original series), and GigaPets. I've been greatly influenced by every boy band under the sun - first there was BSB, then NSYNC, and lastly O-town. And I musn't forget the Spice Girls. Who knows where I'd be if it weren't for the Spice Girls -- it is because of them I developed my liking for anything British and wedge & platform heels. Then there's also the bevy of popstar princesses that found their way into my world or at least onto my favorite radio station -- Britney, Christina, Jessica, Mandy. Then came the time when I was obsessed with everything latin -- Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, J.Lo. I can even recall the days when Ja Rule was cool and Eminem was a fuckin' rebel that my mom couldn't stand (she's since become a fan after viewing 8 Mile). I also remember the days when the girls in my class were all about the pop and the boys were slowly leaning towards the rock -- you know, the Limp Bizkit, Blink 182, etc. and used to torture us in art class by playing music with someone bellowing for a whole f'n album. That used to bother me until I discovered Rob Zombie one morning in a music video I was watching while getting ready for school. I don't know what it was about him -- but he seemed so captivating, plus the music video reminded me of something I'd seen on Buffy, Charmed, and Angel (note my supernatural phase). Since entering high school my interests have grown a bit. I now totally love Justin Timberlake. Actually I liked him from the end of 8th grade. My favorite was originally Lance (go ahead and laugh) -- I even had a crush on this guy who I swore looked like Lance (another story for another time) -- but there was just something about Justin that I couldn't take my eyes off of him. It all started when I was watching this NSYNC concert on TV. I taped half of it and kept watching it over and over again during the summer -- why? don't know -- I was probably trying to pick up some slick new moves or something. But something about Justin just caught my eye and I've been a big fan ever since. I also got into a lot of lesser-known artists like Toby Lightman and Citizen Cope and foreign, mostly UK artists, like Lily Allen, MIA, and Lady Sovereign, because of magazines I read like Teen Vogue and Nylon, movie soundtracks, commercials (good place to spot new music), and late night TV shows (Carson Daly, Conan O'Brien). I also am currently in love with Old Hollywood (i.e. James Dean & Audrey Hepburn). There's just something about Old Hollywood that just rocks man -- back then there was some mystery to celebs -- nowadays everyone knows everything, or thinks they know everything about everybody. There's also my love for Andy Warhol/Edie Sedgwick/The Factory which started because of a picture I saw in Teen Vogue with Edie's picture in it. There's also my love of vaudeville (i.e. Panic! at the Disco) because of a state test I took in my junior year of high school (follow-up story will follow soon but right now I'm going to bed).
Current obsessions: JT, Fergie, Christina Aguilera, Ugly Betty, One Tree Hill, What About Brian, Fashion House, Teen Vogue, Old Hollywood, and of course the perfect mix of dance, vaudeville and rock -- Panic! at the Disco.
